In high school English classroom teaching,lead-in plays an important part in teachers' teaching design of classroom teaching which brings students from the relaxing time to the stage of preparing for the classroom learning,and is the most basic step for teachers to begin their classroom teaching.The research shows that,reasonable application of lead-in strategies in English classes can stimulate students' interest in learning,enthusiasm and motivation for learning,as well as create an active classroom atmosphere,and enable students to take an active part in the class,etc.However,at the present time,there are many practical problems in the application and effect of the lead-in in Chinese high school English classroom teaching which still need to walk into the classroom to further know the real situation.How to use the strategies of classroom lead-in effectively in teaching activities is a hard problem for many high school English teachers all the time.Therefore,this thesis makes further investigation and analysis according to these aspects.This thesis mainly studied three research questions:(1)what is the current situation of lead-in in high school English class?(2)What are the most frequently used classroom lead-in methods of English teachers?(3)What are the attitudes of teachers and students on the use of classroom lead-in,and whether it is necessary to apply and what about its influence? The subjects of this research are part of the students and teachers of the current senior one and senior two in No.1 Senior High School of Songxian County,and chose 202 students and 30 English teachers,as well selected 30 real English classroom observations,which tries to explore the application situation of lead-in part in the high school English classroom teaching and the effect of the classroom.Through classroom observation,questionnaire and interview these three research methods to collect data,and did detailed data statistics,analysis and discussion.The findings are as follows:(1)Most teachers will use lead-in methods as the beginning part of a class in English classes,and only a few teachers directly entered the learning content of a class.(2)When designing the lead-in part,according to students' needs and cognitive characteristics,teachers often choose methods such as problem lead-in,situation lead-in and multimedia lead-in and so on,so that students' learning initiative can be cultivated and students can take an active part in teaching activities.(3)The application of lead-in strategies is approved and accepted by most teachers and students who believed that the use of lead-in actually has improved the learning efficiency of students and the teaching quality of high school English classes to some degree.So it is necessary to use the lead-in methods in high school English class.
