The Research Of Janpanese Scholar Jiubao Ai's Xunzi Zengzhu

Xunzi,as a classical work of confucianism in China,has a profound influence not only in China,but also in the sinosphere in the East Asian.According to the Riben Shuji,Chinese confucianism began to spread in Japan in the early 5th century.In the Edo period,the subcommentary work of Xunzi triggered a wave in the Japanese academic circles.The study of Xunzi's knowledge in the Edo period absorbed the views of Chinese subcommentary scientists in Qing Dynasty,and thus produced a lot of works of great academic value.Jiubaoai's Xunzi Zengzhu is an important subcommentary work in this period.This paper excavates and analyzes Xunzi Zengzhu's subcommentary style,subcommentary terms and subcommentary methods,and probes into its features and enlightenment to later generations,hoping to provide some new references for Xunzi's subcommentary work in the future.It is also beneficial to the cultural exchanges between China and Japan.This article is divided into five parts,and the main contents are as follows:Chapter one is the introduction which introduces the background,significance,domestic and foreign research status and research methods of Xunzi Zengzhu.Chapter two is a brief introduction to Jiubao Ai and his Xunzi Zengzhu.This part briefly discusses the biography of Jiubao Ai,the publication information of Xunzi Zengzhu and the structure of the book.Chapter three introduces subcommentary style and terminology of Xunzi Zengzhu.Firstly,this part introduces the subcommentary style of Xunzi Zengzhu from two aspects: arrangement style and interpretation style.Secondly,this paper analyzes the subcommentary terms used in Xunzi Zengzhu from eight aspects: the term that interprets words,the term that interprets sentences,the term that indicates interchangeability of words,the term of phonetic notation,the term of punctuation,the term of rhetoric,theterm of evaluation,and the term of proofreading.Chapter four introduces the subcommentary method of Xunzi Zengzhu.This part mainly expounds the subcommentary methods used in Xunzi Zengzhu from five aspects: infer meaning according to sound,infer meaning with font,infer the meaning from the other meaning,specify grammar and specify rhetoric.Chapter five introduces the acceptance of Xunzi in the Edo era of Japan from Xunzi Zengzhu.First of all,it summarizes the features and enlightenments of Xunzi Zengzhu.Its subcommentary features are detailed content and scientific method,lots of references and rich content,accepting advantages and well founded and rigorous study and seeking truth from facts.And its enlightenments are mainly as follows: the interpretation of words should be combined with the meaning of word in dictionary and context,the reading of ancient books needs mutual reference and following scientific theories and methods.Secondly,taking Xunzi Zengzhu as an example,this part discusses the acceptance of Xunzi in the Edo era of Japan from three aspects: collating Xunzi,collating Yang Liang's commentary and adding the subcommentary.
