With the development of global integration and the deepening of China's reform and opening up,interpreting plays an increasingly important role in promoting international exchanges and cooperation.More and more students are learning interpreting. However,in the study and practice, both professional and student interpreters may encounter some difficulties.Interpretation is a kind of oral activity, while for the student interpreters, listening eomprehension i5 both important and difficult.Interpretation is different from general English listening.Interpreters must not only understand what the speaker said, but also clarify the logical relationship in the source language, and use the target language to accurately express the full meaning of the speaker's speech. For student inteipreters, especially those who are accustomed to written examinations, listening comprehension is a huge obstacle. After reading a lot of literature I found that there are not many studies on listening comprehension in interpretation. This practical report chose a Ted speech entitled How to Live To Be 100+as a research material. The author compares the interpretation output of her own and the output of a professional interpreter to find out the common problems in listening and understanding, and find that the fast speed of source language, the lack of relevant knowledge and so on are the reasons. Finally,by the application of case analysis and translation comparison, and the theories of interpretation, these problems are analyzed and the eorresponding solutions are summarized. The author hopes that this simulation can analyze the problems of listening and comprehension of student interpreters in English-Chinese simultaneous interpretation, and propose corresponding solutions to provide some reference for training and practice.
