It has always been the subject of domestic and foreign scholars to improve students'interest in learning English through games.Scholars have done many researches mainly on the concept,the classification,the design,the role and significance,the implementation of the basic principles etc.of English teaching games.They have also obtained many corresponding research results.However,there are few research results about a certain class as well as specific teachers.Therefore,this study takes five young teachers' eight English demonstration classes from an ordinary middle school in Wuhan as the object of observation to analysis the use of classroom games.The thesis will observe and record the type,the number,the time,the distribution of classroom games,as well as teachers'participation and evaluation and other aspects in the course.Then the thesis will figure out the defects in the games and give some suggestions to improve the teaching ability of young teachers to optimize the classroom and improve classroom efficiency.By observing and recording five young teachers' eight classes in Wuhan Xianfeng Middle School,this thesis finds out that in the actual teaching process,teachers particularly like to use English songs to improve students ' interest in learning English.The beautiful melody can not only relieve the nerves,but also enable the students to concentrate quickly on the course.Well-designed English songs can also help the teacher move on to the next step in the classroom teaching.Role-playing is an essential part of oral practice in English demonstration classes.In the process,the students put themselves into the role unconsciously.They experience the emotion,the tone of the role,and then have fun while mastering the use of the target sentences.The number of classroom games in a class has no fixed rules.Teachers can design classroom games reasonably and effectively according to the needs of the curriculum,which can greatly improve the efficiency of the classroom and arouse the students' interest in learning English.Based on this study,the author puts forward some specific suggestions to optimize classroom games in order to help young English teachers improve the effect of classroom teaching,enhance students' interest in learning English,and promote the improvement of teachers' teaching level.
