A Comparative Study Of Celadon From Southern Kiln And Changsha Kiln In Tang Dynasty

Celadon was first mature in the eastern Tang dynasty,and became a system in Tang dynasty,and the white porcelain competition formed the situation of "the south blue north white".White porcelain is represented by Xing kiln,Ding kiln and Gongyi kiln in the north,celadon is represented by Yue kiln,Ou kiln,Hongzhou kiln,Wuzhou kiln and Yue kiln in the south.Nan kiln followed Hongzhou kiln in Jiangxi province and Changsha kiln followed Yuezhou kiln in Hunan province,both of them belonged to the southern celadon system and played an important role in the development of porcelain in the tang dynasty.Nan kiln site is the earliest kiln site discovered in Jingdezhen,the "porcelain capital",its appearance pushed forward the porcelain making history of Jingdezhen for nearly two hundred years,which aroused extensive attention of the academic circle to the porcelain making history of Jingdezhen.Through archaeological investigation and excavation,it is confirmed that the history of porcelain firing in Nan kiln started in the middle Tang dynasty,flourished in the middle and late Tang dynasty,declined in the late Tang dynasty,and the firing time was about 800~900 years.Changsha kiln is located in Changsha city,Hunan province.After several archaeological investigations and excavations of Tongguan and Wazhaping,it is confirmed that the history of Changsha kiln porcelain was started in the Tang dynasty,flourishing in the late Tang dynasty,and gradually declined after the five dynasties.Nan and Changsha kiln as important celadon kiln in Tang dynasty period,represented by fire celadon,and in the implements modeling,decoration,fire craft and so on have many similar,have an integral connection between them and clarify the relationship between the two to the understanding of two kiln porcelain of the fire situation and implements characteristics has important significance.This paper tries to analyze the similarities and differences between Nan kiln and Changsha kiln in terms of their social,economic background,instrumental characteristics,porcelain making process,kiln technology and other aspects,so as to explore the reasons for the mutual influence between the two kilns and determine the relationship between the two kilns.
