The Neolithic Age is marked by the use of stone tools.It is the last stage of the Stone Age and a new stage in the development of human material culture.The absolute age of Chinese Neolithic culture is roughly 10,000 BC to2000BC.During this period,pottery drums appeared and became an important artifact in people's lives.Pottery drum refers to a kind of percussion instrument that can be beaten with clay.This kind of utensil has a special shape.There is usually a button for the leather to be used under the mouth.Because of the age,the drum skin has rotted,now archaeological The excavation proceeds are all drumsticks without artificial leather.The academic circles have relatively little research on these kinds of utensils.Most of them are researches on the type or function of pottery drums in small areas,but there are few studies on their comprehensiveness.On the basis of previous studies,this paper will carry out typological analysis of the prehistoric Liaohe and Haihe,Yellow River and Yangtze River pottery drums through statistics,collation and comparative analysis,and simultaneously unearth the unearthed background of the pottery drum.The object is analyzed to achieve the purpose of comprehensively exploring the function of the pottery drum in the Neolithic Age.This article is divided into six chapters.The first chapter is the introduction part.It summarizes the research status of the pottery drum from the two aspects of the name and function of the pottery drum.At the same time,it defines the pottery drum standard of the Neolithic Age.The main part of the article is the second chapter to the fifth chapter.The second chapter,the third chapter and the fourth chapter are the separate researches on the pottery drums of the Liaohe and Haihe,Yellow River and Yangtze Rivers in the Neolithic Age.Methods The terracotta drums of each basin were classified,followed by analysis from the unearthed background to explore the function of the pottery drums.In addition,the sequence analysis ofthe terracotta drums and the development of pottery drums in different regions was added in the Yellow River Basin.The fifth chapter is mainly about the comprehensive study of the pottery drums in the Neolithic Age.The comparative analysis of the pottery drums in these three basins.At the same time,this paper explores the functions of pottery drums from the perspectives of ethnology,sociology and philology.The nature has obtained the functions of tambourine,burial and burial in the Neolithic Age.As an important artifact in the Neolithic Age,the pottery drum played an extremely important role in social life.Although the pottery drum has gradually disappeared,the important instrument of the drum still plays its great social value.
