Song Lyrics,as the gem of Chinese culture,is unique and special in the world literature history.In the process of “going out” strategy of China,the Song Lyrics is a key player.As an outstanding translator,Xu Yuanchong and his contribution should not be brushed off.This thesis studies translator's subjectivity in reference to the same lyric texts translated by Xu and other translators.In the process of translation,a translator has to go through four phases of the subjectivity of the translator: choosing a source text,understanding the source text,choosing translation strategy,and exerting translator's creativity.The translator develops his subjectivity in these steps one after another.To study this topic,the thesis employs qualitative and descriptive methods to analyze relevant samples,namely,describing the translator's subjectivity in four phases of translation.The thesis draw such a conclusion that subjectivity of the translator is the key factor to quality of translation.Moreover,Xu Yuanchong presents his different subjectivity.And different translator has different subjectivity to the same lyrics.
