An Academic Process Of The Study Of The New Immigrant Literature From Mainland China

In the early 1980s,with the implementation of the reform and opening up policy,the mainland China opened up to the world once again after nearly three decades of closure.A large number of Chinese students have gone abroad,and an upsurge of studying abroad has been set off in mainland China for decades.By virtue of their own cultural knowledge,these students recorded their overseas study experiences and feelings,one kind of literary phenomenon called "Overseas Student literature" appeared in the mainland China.But with the emergence of other immigrant groups,such as skilled immigrants,investment immigrants,family visit immigrants and so on,more and more mainland overseas students graduating successfully and staying abroad,the concept of "Overseas Student literature" is no longer suitable for the present situation of overseas Chinese literature in the stage.In order to generalize this literary phenomenon better and distinguish from Taiwan's "Overseas Student literature",which has great influence at the end of 1950 s,the mainland scholars put forward a new concept "New Immigrant literature" at the same time.As an important part of overseas Chinese literature,researchers paid full attention to the New Immigrant literature in mainland China since its inception,and thousands of relevant research works and articles have been written.The purpose of this paper is to make a systematic,comprehensive and academic research on the nature of the New Immigrant literature and its activities,which have been published by the academic circles in mainland China,and put forward some suggestions for the study of the nature of academic history,and theoretical innovation and the transformation of research paradigm.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction,mainly including the rise and influence of the New Immigrant literature,the origin and significance of the New Immigrant literature research,explain the research background and significance of this topic.Among them,the rise of the New Immigrant literature and its influence this part discusses the emergence of several literary phenomena,including "immigration and the emergence of Overseas Chinese literature","the emergence of Overseas Student literature","the rise of New Immigrant literature".The purpose is to explore the background of the New Immigrant literature through the trace of the immigration phenomenon.The second part is a longitudinal study,which systematically scans the academic process of the study of the New Immigrant literature in mainland China through a diachronic perspective.The chapter is divided into three stages: the initial stage(1989-1999),the expansion stage(2000-2009)and the prosperous stage(2010-present).The emphasis is to integrate the research situation of the New Immigrant literature in different stages of mainland scholars.The difficult point is to collect a large number of literature materials and sort them out so as to form the basic outline of the research process of the New Immigrants literature in mainland China.The third part focuses on the theme of the New Immigrant literature research,mainly through the methods of inductive analysis,mainly discusses from three aspects: "Identity Issues in Heterogeneous Culture","Chinese Writing in the Discrete State",and "Reconstruction of Gender Consciousness in Female Texts".The main purpose of this part is to clear up and extract the significant and representative academic hot topics and frontier thesis,which emerge from the new immigrant literature research,and their works conducted by Chinese researchers.We discuss the evolvement of focus of the research and viewpoint switching during 30-year academic course of New Immigrant literature at the same time.The fourth part is the regional study of New Immigrant literature,which is divided into three major areas: "European New Immigrant literature research","North AmericanNew Immigrant literature research" and "Australia New Immigrant literature research".By combing and integrating the research achievements of Chinese mainland scholars on New Immigrant literature in different regions,this paper tries to analyze and comment on the attention of mainland scholars to the New immigrant literature from different regions in an all-round way.Contrasting the research strategies and key points of New Immigrant literature in different regions.The fifth part is the development and evaluation of the research of the New Immigrant literature.It bases on the former four chapters,makes the summary,assessment,introspection and criticism on the current situation of Chinese academic course of the New Immigrant literature,and the theoretical significance and the question value are also discussed.The emphasis is to highlight the importance and possibility of theoretical construction and methodology innovation,and the difficulty is to make a constructive and forward-looking criticism and suggestion to the transformation of the research paradigm in the research of the New Immigrant literature.The sixth part is the conclusion,mainly including the review and summary of the emphasis in the course of the study,as well as the promise of the significance and value of the research.
