C-E Translation Report On Big Data Security Standardization (Excerpt)

With the development of social information and network,the big data has become a basic strategic resource for many countries,and its security is also becoming more and more important for the national economic operation mechanism,national defense security monitoring,social life style and cultural information dissemination.The big data security standardization has developed into a global problem,so all the countries are actively looking for solutions.In order to comply with the trend of the times and the needs of national conditions,China sets up a security system for big data's development as well,which not only gives full play to big data's value,but also solves the problems of data security and personal information protection.This translation material is excerpted from the Big Data Security Standardization published by the National Information Security Standardization Technical Committee on April 2017 in the website of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China.At present,the translation quality on big data in our country 1s yet to be improved,and the translations of such white papers are also very few and far between.Therefore,the study on English translation of white paper has certain academic and reference value.This translation report mainly analyzes and studies the translation strategies and methods of scientific white paper from the perspective of functional equivalence theory.This report consists of four chapters:Chapter One introduces the translation task description,which mainly talks about the source,characteristics and research background and significance of this text;Chapter Two describes the translation process,including pre-translation preparation,translation process and quality control;Chapter Three is the most important part of the translation report and it analyzes some typical cases in the original text from three levels under the guidance of functionalist theory:lexis,syntax and discourse;Chapter Four conducts a practice summary,which summarizes some translation experiences,lessons and remaining problems in this translation practice.This report aims at promoting the global exchange and improvement of big data security technology,and the translator hopes that this translation will contribute to the improvement of white Paper's translation quality,and provides some references for the EST translation related to big data security standardization.
