This paper investigates the current situation of early childhood Mandarin class in Malaysia by questionnaire survey.In addition,interviews were also used to discuss Mandarin teaching with kindergarten Mandarin teachers of 5 and 6 years old.There are very few kindergartens in Malaysia that teach in a single language.Because of the multi-ethnic language needs and the children's future primary school,most parents choose kindergartens with a multilingual learning environment.With the advancement of Mandarin in the international arena,kindergartens with Mandarin courses have joined many Chinese and non-Chinese students whose mother tongue is not Mandarin.At the same time,many English-language kindergartens have also added Mandarin courses to meet the needs of parents.Therefore,have caused teachers to have some confusion in Mandarin teaching.After collecting the data of questionnaires and interviews,author used the inductive summarization method,to aggregate the questionnaires and the interviews answers,and then summarized the data,and conducted research and analysis.Finally,the author also put forward some suggestions and teaching strategies to overcome the existing problems.This paper has six chapters.The introduction to the first chapter describes the current research situation,selects the research methods and contents,clarifies the research significance,and explains the source of the data.The second chapter gives an overview of the overall situation of Mandarin teaching in Malaysia.The third chapter investigates and analyzes the situation of early childhood Mandarin teaching in Malaysia.The fourth chapter discusses four factors that affect children's Mandarin learning in a multilingual environment:social factors,family factors,age factors and psychological factors.The fifth chapter puts forward some suggestions for the early childhood Mandarin teaching in Malaysia.Finally,the author made a summary of the research content of the whole paper.
