Chinese Dialect Loan Words In Thai

The language contact leads by differences between the various countries in ethnic immigrants,cultural exchanges,and economic exchanges and so on.The most common type of language contact is to outsource of words from different cultural language.Since the population of the southern Chinese dialect area in China has a large immigrant population of Thailand.Therefore,many Thai vocabularies have been outsourced from the southern Chinese dialect and contacts from the Southern Chinese dialect which cover multiple fields.This research aims to analyze Chinese dialect loan words in Thai language through language contact theory and language borrowing theory of social language.Meanwhile,combining cultural linguistics,lexical semantics and other multi-study theories have been testified to see the comparison of exact import of Chinese dialect into Thai language and found the origin of Chinese words and its meaning.It shell determine that how these words affect to Thai society by knowing the word’s origins and the reason to acceptance of imported words.There are many reasons to outsource Chinese dialects in Thai language,main reason is the lack of a large number of words in Thai,immigrants,dominancy of economic,trade,and culture.The more people are becoming familiar with Chinese dialects in Thai that explain the deeper impact of its contact.The output of import Chinese dialects in Thai is multi-faceted,including utensils,behavioral actions,quantifiers,special names,traits,etc.According to the borrowing of morphemes and constructs of dialects in Thai,they can be divided into five types:Loan-traisliteration,Loan shift,Phonemic loans,Loan Semi-transliteration and New words.The language contact includes cultural contact.When the nation loans foreign words,it also naturally receives and integrates the language and culture of the other party.The influence of Chinese dialect loan words on Thai culture is mainly reflected in diet,region and religious culture.This paper tend to use survey,description analysis and other methods to study the current status of outsourcing dialects in Thai which explore the role and influence and dominancy of Chinese dialects in the development of Thai language,and to understand Thai vocabulary from a new perspective.This study is intend to disclose the background of cultural connotation behind the word explore the reason to import Chinese dialects in Thai that helps to understand Thai vocabulary from a new perspective.
