Stereotypes Of Russian Foreign Students In Relation To China And Psychological Adaptation

Stereotypes are stable,simplified representations of one group of people relative to another group of people or object.Stereotypes are very common thing in modern society.Each person or social group has a fixed view of another person.Because of modern humanity meet a lot of people and face a lot of information in their daily life,in order to help people form more general impression of a certain kind of person,we should reduce stereotypes personal pressure.But besides positive effects,stereotypes can also prevent people from looking at others objectively,and even lead to prejudice or discrimination.China-Russia relations always have been very friendly.For a long time,the relationship of Russia and China went through several stages.At the present time,relations between Russia and China are experiencing a rise in development.Thus,the number of Russian students studying in China is growing every year.However,despite the fact that there are more Russian students in China every year,we can say that among Russian students there is not enough objective knowledge regarding China and Chinese people.In the new cultural environment,all foreing students face not only a new language for themselves,but also encounter dissimilar traditions and habits,other cultural values,a way of Russian foreign students in relation to China,from other side also have an influence on psychological of Russian foreign students.This thesis researches the stereotypes of Russian foreign students in relation to China,their psychological adaptation and connection between them.This study is aimed to identify the existing stereotypes of Russian foreign students in relation to China through the analysis of a questionnaire survey,as well as to study the degree of psychological adaptation of Russian students in China.In addition,on the basis of the data obtained to identify the effect of stereotypes on the psychological adaptation of Russian students in China.Using the results of this study to contribute the study of the stereotypes of Russian foreign students in relation to China,and the degree of their psychological adaptation.And also to help Russian foreign students to improve their level of Chinese language,and better adapt to a new environment.The object of this study is Russian foreign students studying in China.The introduction part describes the concept of stereotypes,summarizes the stereotypes and sorts out the relevant theories of stereotypes.The first chapter mainly introduces the bacic situation,research methods and objects of the questionnaire design.Chapter two researches the influence of stereotypes and personal factors on stereotypes of Russian foreign students coming to China.The third chapter is aimed to tstudy the cross-cultural psychological adaptation and stereotypes of Russian foreign students in China.This chapter includes overall situation of intercultural psychological adaptation of Russian foreign students in China,the impact of individual factors on cross-cultural psychological adaptation,and the relationship between stereotypes and intercultural psychological adaptation.Chapter four points out some of the problems and related suggestion.
