There are all kinds of sounds in nature, including those produced by human vocal organs or limb movements.People imitate these sounds by their voice, and gradually create a kind of systematic language forms, which are called onomatopoeic forms and can be divided into onomatopoeia and onomatopoeic phrases. They play an important role in the modern Chinese lexical system, and show a series of noticeable characteristics in phonology, lexeme, grammar and usage, which are worthy of special research.Based on language practice, this paper combines quantitative methods with qualitative research to focus on the onomatopoeic forms in mandarin,so as to systematacially analyze their characteristics, and provide referential ideas for the classification and selection of onomatopoeia and onomatopoeic phrases. The specific research content is as follows:Chapter one is the introduction. This chapter firstly introduces two small cases in the field of teaching Chinese as a foreign language and Chinese information processing, and discusses the necessity of detailed research on the basis of the existing theoretical system. Then relevant research results are summarized from the concept definition, classification, phonetic form, syntactic function, rhetoric effect and unit division.Chapter two mainly discusses the onomatopoeic morphemes in modern Chinese. This chapter starts with the introduction of onomatopoeic objects, then analyzes the corresponding relationship between these objects and onomatopoeic morphemes, and finally investigates the classification and lexical functions of onomatopoeic morphemes in detail.Chapter three studies onomatopoeia by classification. This chapter mainly analyzes the common structural forms of onomatopoeia(such as A,AA,AB,ABB,AABB and ABCD)in terms of phonetic form, semantic features and grammatical functions, and summarizes some typical collocations related to onomatopoeia.Chapter four focuses on several kinds of onomatopoeic phrases. This chapter points out that onomatopoeic phrases can be formed by repetition, consecutive use and overlapping, and concludes that there is likely to be a kind of lexicalization as " repetition?reduplication?reiterative" in onomatopoeic forms. At the end of this chapter,we emphasize the distinguishing function of pauses, and explain the usages and effects of several punctuation marks.Chapter five focuses on the distribution of onomatopoeic forms.Based on the conclusions in above chapters, this chapter discusses the specific distribution of diversified onomatopoeic forms in grammar and pragmatics from three aspects of grammatical distribution, common collocations and stylistic differences, and tries to summarize their priority sequence and dominant forms under different conditions. The last chapter is the conclusion of this paper. This chapter makes a summary of the above research content, and on this basis, discusses the non-standard phenomenon of onomatopoeic forms, and expects more scholars to pay attention to related problems.
