A Contrastive Study On Chinese And Russian Onomatopoeic Words

Onomatopoeia is a part of speech used to describe sound and is widely used in our daily communication.We use onomatopoeia in both spoken and written expressions.Especially when tracing things,onomatopoeia have tracing things sound,highlight the characteristics of things,the expression of emotions and mood of the important role.This thesis takes the comparative analysis of onomatopoeia in Chinese and Russian as the main research target.The onomatopoeia appearing in the Seventh Edition of ?Modern Chinese Dictionary?and?Russian Interpretation Dictionary?are used as a comparative study object of the two languages through comparative analysis of the characteristics and similarities of onomatopoeia in the two languages,draw their own conclusions.Onomatopoeia exists in almost every language in the world,and Chinese and Russian are no exception.But because the two languages belong to different language types,there are some differences between them,like grammatical features of the phonetic system and onomatopoeia.In spite if there are also some similarities.This thesis first discusses the topic selection basis and the current situation of research about onomatopoeia in China and Russia.Then,in the scope of our study,Chinese and Russian onomatopoeia are compared and analyzed from the syllable structure of speech,the varieties of onomatopoeia and the grammatical structure.Through comparative research,there were found that Chinese and Russian onomatopoeia have similar syllable structure.However,due to the unique relationship of the Chinese phonetic system,Chinese onomatopoeia also has its own unique phonetic structure.Chinese and Russian onomatopoeia both are present to refer to the object of diverse and complex features,but because of cultural characteristics,Chinese onomatopoeia in tracing some specific sound is more abundant than Russian;Chinese and Russian onomatopoeia grammar function roughly similar,but Chinese onomatopoeia grammar function is more complex,compared with the Russian language,Chinese onomatopoeia from number,type,usage,etc.are more rich and complex.This thesis can not only help foreign students to learn Chinese onomatopoeia,but also help enrich Chinese learners oral and written expression.At the same time,the research results of this theses can also provide basic information and reference for the study of Russian-Chinese comparison and translation of Russian and Chinese.
