A Project Report On The 8^th All China-International Tube&Pipe Industry Trade Fair

Exhibition,as an inclusive activity covering a wide range of fields,is viewed as an ideal platform to demonstrate products and examine opportunities.Although exhibition in China only has a short history of over 30 years,yet it has already become one of the most promising industries,enjoying a steady increase of nearly 20%annually in terms of quantity and scale.Along with the boom in exhibition also comes the growing demand for exhibition interpreter.The reporter participated in the 8th All-China International Tube&Pipe Industry Trade Fair as an interpreter,and his major task was to facilitate communication between exhibitors and potential clients.In the course of this project,the reporter came across a series of challenges,including insufficient preparation for terminology,short-term memory overload and the interpreter's role in communication.Analyzing these problems,the reporter put forward three solutions.First,the interpreter should enrich terminology reserve in diverse ways.Second,short-term memory can be improved through training and by adopting proper strategies.Third,the interpreter should exert the interpreter's subjectivity.This report helps the reporter to gain a clearer understanding of his shortcomings and goals.Also,it will enrich the database in the study of exhibition interpretation and serve as a source of reference for MTI candidates.
