The Research On Cheng Songwan'Poetry

Cheng Songwan is a modern and famous poet, educationist and doer, famoused in the modern poetry circles and won good praise from Wang Kaiyun, Chen Sanli etc. He has created a large number of poems in all his life, the extant poem of his work reaches ten kinds, include more than 4,000 poems. The content of his poem reflects the social change of the times, showes his experience and think transition, pay close attention to the life of common people. The verse style sometimes was flamboyant and tender, sometimes was elegant and easy, othertimes was oppressive and deserted .This paper makes full use of the firsthand materials, combine with relevant literatures, so as to carry on the overall discussion on his life story, poem origin, thought changes and poem style. This paper is consist of three parts.Chapter one is about the poet's family background and his poem origin. This section researches on his background and social relations in an all-round way, analyzes how does his cousin Cheng Songpan affect his growth and poem creation . The second chapter is about his career and thought changes, and poem content.This chapter studies on the experience and enterprise of his life. At the same time, which analyzes the change of the poetry content and clarify the process of his thought changes. Cheng experienced two times of thought transitions. When he was young, he anchored his hope on article to render meritorious service, and wished to make contributions and build his enterprise actively. When came to the middle age with his thought becom more and more mature, he tried to carry out his hope into reality, became strengthen and competent to practise some real work to save the nation, worked for the welfare of the people conscientiously. When it came to his declining years, he would like to be immune from the ill society, then chased an ordinary life afer his suffering from illness and several setbacks.Chapter three is"the change of Cheng's verse style". The different life experience led to the fact of Cheng's twice thought transitions, moreover, made his verse style variety taken place. His verse style was flamboyant and tender at the begging, then became elegant and easy, sometimes with veiled meaning in it, but it turned into oppressive and desert at last.
