Interpreting, which serves as an important means and bridge in international exchange and cooperation in different fields,is now playing a vital role. Therefore,it has drawn high attention from the public and the public's requirements for the quality of interpreting are gradually increasing. This report takes the "2018 Google Developer Conference" as a case study of consecutive interpreting practice.Google company has a huge influence in the field of science and technology and the annual Google I/O conference attracted tremendous attention. The 2018 Google I/O conference mainly introduces the latest scientific and technological achievements on artificial intelligence, which involves health care, transportation and application, etc. The topic is close to the trends of times and the reality of life,so the practice of simulated interpretation has certain practical significance.Adaptation theory is a comprehensive theory which can be applied in almost every stage and level of the translation process. It sees translation as a dynamic process of continuous adaption and selection and provides great guidance for interpreting. From the perspective of this theory, the case study is used to analyze the application of the four dimensions of adaptation theory in the process of interpreting, namely, contextual correlates of adaptability, structural objects of adaptability, dynamics of adaptability and salience of the adaptation processes. The author explores how interpreter apply adaptation theory to practice, and how she uses strategies guided under the guidance of the theory to solve the problems in the course of the practice. After the simulation, suggestions are given in order to improve translation ability and better accomplish future interpreting tasks.
