With the implementing and fast development of “Belt and Road” Initiative,China has a closer relationship with Belt and Road countries.Nowadays,International exchange and forum is frequently hosted in Chengdu. It provides more opportunities for local interpreters to interpret for international friends, which can people get a closer look at China's development. In the past two decades, schema theory(Kant,1780)has been widely used in the field of second language and foreign language teaching, and has achieved fruitful results. These studies show that schema construction is closely related to second language interpretation.Schema can not only promote understanding,at the same time, the relevant background knowledge of schema is helpful to explain the ambiguity and deciphering of new words and difficult sentences.secondly, schema can be stored in long-term memory. In the aspect of graphic can improve the memory effect. Finally, the diagram helps to express the relevant information. This report is a practice report of Chinese-English consecutive interpreting.Based on the schema theory,we take the speech presented at “One Belt One Road Nepali Workshop” as an example. We summarize three difficulties: unfamiliar words translation, subtext translation and translation for context with loose logic. With the guidance of schema theory,we raise suggestions to solve these difficulties, and present the difficulties and suggestions in the form of case analysis. The case study shows the following findings: With the construction of schema in preparation process, interpreters can use anticipation strategy(Besien,1999)to explain unfamiliar words;with the construction of specific schema, interpreters can make sufficient explanation for the subtext by using explanatory strategy(Bassnett,1980);with deepening cognition of the schema in mind, interpreters can use amplification, recombination and abridgement strategies(Bassnett,1980)to reorganize context with loose logic. It is hoped that this report can bring some reference values for the later research.
