A Practice Report On The English Translation Of "Fluid Dynamics And Experimental Investigation On The Cavitation Characteristics Of The Water-exit And-entry Process Of Underwater Vehicle"

In this paper,the English translation of the scientific literature “Fluid Dynamics and Experimental Investigation on the Cavitation Characteristics of the Water-exit and-entry Process of Underwater Vehicle” is taken as an example.From the source of the source text and the translation background and significance of the paper,the translation practice and Functional Equivalence Theory are combined,and the Functional Equivalence Theory Combine is used to guide translation practice.From the vocabulary and sentence level,the translation is combined with Functional Equivalence Theory for case analysis.At the vocabulary level,the Principle of Loyalty to the Original Author is used to guide the translation of professional terms,and the Principle of Serving the Target Language Acceptor is used to guide the translation of verbs into nouns.At the sentence level,the Principle of Surface Equivalence is used to guide the application of the sequential method,the Principle of Pragmatic Equivalence is used to guide the translation of active sentences into passive sentences,and the Principle of Deep Equivalence is used to guide the application of associated words.The case study proves that Functional Equivalence Theory has great guiding significance for scientific English translation,which is in line with the characteristics of scientific English,objectivity,rigor and logicality.The paper also analyzes the problems encountered in the translation process,summarizes the experience and lessons,and proposes solutions.
