A Report On The Translation Of My Hero(Chapters 7-8)

This is a translation report on the book My Hero(chapters 7-8),an urban romance novel by Marianna Jameson,a best-selling American novelist with a doctorate in journalism.The novel tells the love between the writer Miranda and detective Chas.It was first published by the new American library published in June 2005.With the twisty-turny plot,sharp language and distinctive personalities,the novel is very popular in the United States.All in all,the translator thinks it is worth translating.This translation practice report is divided into four parts.The first part is the description of translation task,which introduces the background,text information,translation goal and translation task.The second part is the description of the translation process.The third part is the translating practice analysis guided by the Skopos Theory.Based on the skopos rule,the author analyses some examples for realizing the communicative purpose;under the fidelity rule,the author adopts the literal and free translation methods to increase the faithfulness to the original text;finally,under the coherence rule to make the translation more coherent.The fourth part is a conclusion,which summarizes the translation experience and problems that need to be solved in the future.
