Notices in tourist attractions reveal the soft power of Chinese culture and act as a window for foreign tourists to experience the beautiful China. Influenced by cultural differences, C-E translation of cultural items fails its function and leaves information recipient—foreign tourists being offended. The report takes notices in tourist attractions as an example study and analyses characteristics of notices in tourist attractions from the two languages. During the translating process, cultural differences abound in C-E translation of notices in tourist attractions and become an intangible obstacle for tourists to enjoy the scenery. As for translation problems caused by cultural differences, under the guidance of Skopos theory, this report proposes corresponding methods on lexical structure and syntactical construction, building the bridge that connects communication between China and western countries. Meanwhile, this report provides solutions for graphics processing and untranslatability processing. Based on analysis of translation practices, this report concludes that cultural differences of notices in tourist attractions should get more attention. Amplification, omission and rewriting can solve translation problems caused by cultural differences under the guidance of Skopos theory. Only by learning from the international standards and showing respects to target readers can translators eliminate cultural differences of notices in tourist attractions.
