With the rise of self-publishing industry(henceforth,self-publishing),the current publishing environment has been experiencing drastic changes in the way how contents are created, delivered, and acquired. In today's digital age,as the rapid development of self-publishing,the term “traditional publishing” fades away from people's lives. Therefore, librarians, publishers, and vendors have to start seeking channels for the production, distribution, and access of self-published books. This report selects Chapters 8-10 from the book Self-Publishing and Collection Development: Opportunities and Challenges for Libraries as its translation material, which mainly investigates how public and academic libraries deal with the increase in self-published books and the burgeoning issues associated with self-publishing.Under the guidance of Catford's shift model of translation, some cases in the translation practice are studied from four levels: structural shift, class shift, unit shift and intra-system shift. It is hoped to shed light on English-Chinese translation of publishing texts.
