Egong opera is a local opera that has been circulated in the Fuping area of Shaanxi Province. It is also known as the Wogong opera in the dialect of Shaanxi.Whether it was presented by a folk artist through a shadow play in the early days,or later turned into a live actors on the stage..It can be said that under the development of media technology, the initial oral communication of Egong's communication route has expanded to print media, electronic media and network media. In the multi-media environment, the spread of Egong opera has got rid of the limitation of time and space, and it has the possibility of instant and flexible communication, but the diversified media products that come with it also challenge the survival of this local opera. This leads to the problem of this paper: under the transformation of the media environment, what kind of changes have occurred in the propagation of the Egong opera, and what state is specifically presented? In response to the above problems, this paper attempts to use the theory of media ecology to investigate the local and extended propagation of Egong opera under the change of media environment. This paper draws on the concept of opera-based communication and extended communication proposed by Wang Tingxin and tries to redefine it.Firstly, the paper analyzes the characteristics and changes of the opera-based communication of Egong opera in static media and the evolution of media, and finds its association with the media. It describes and classifies the spread of Egong opera in specific situation,in order to find the interaction between the media environment and the opera communication. In the extended communication of Egong opera, this paper sorts out the media presentation of various related information and the education of opera knowledge in order to analyze its characteristics and changes.
