Different from other quantifiers,the modern Chinese measure word "pian" has its own particularity in semantics,grammar,pragmatics and other aspects.Only a deeper study of the modern Chinese measure word "pian" from different angles can reveal its many characteristics.Therefore,the thesis is divided into five chapters to study quantifier "slice" from five different perspectives.The first chapter analyzes the semantic meaning of measure word "pian".The measure word "pian" is different from the general measure word in that it can not only be collocated with nouns,but also verbs and adjectives,and its semantic features are also different.Even when the measure word "pian" is collocated with the noun,it is different from other classifiers and nouns.The second chapter examines several grammatical structures and overlapping structures of "numeral + slice".measure word "pian" can not only be directly combined with cardinal words,but also directly with ordinal words.In addition,adjectives can be added between measure word and "pian" to form a special grammatical structure.The measure word "pian" has four overlapping structures: "pianpian","yi pianpian ","yi pain yi pian " and "yi pian you yi pian ".The fourth chapter describes the diachronic evolution of "pian".Explain the evolution of "pian" from the original verb "separate" to the measure word "pian".As a measure word,"pian" has different development directions.The grammatical structure of measure word "pian" also experienced the development from "noun numeral measure word" to " numeral measure word noun".Chapter five discusses the categorization process of "pian".The extension of measure word "pian" from the initial central collocation object to the near and far object has a certain rule,and the theory of metaphor and metonymy can explain the reason for this development rule.
