Mural is a record of life and it is the most traditional way of painting in ancient times.People used mural to record life in Tang Dynasty.The artists recorded life by painting on the wall and the women's pictures occupied a large number of all the murals.The development of the murals of Tang Dynasty can be probably be divided into three stages,including the early period of Tang Dynasty(618-712 AD),the flourishing period of Tang Dynasty(713-766 AD)and the middle-late Tang Dynasty(766-835 AD).This thesis is about the female murals of Tang Dynasty and it begins with a time sequence.It analyze the styles of female murals of three periods of Tang Dynasty which include grave murals,temple murals and grotto murals,and it analyze the reasons and characteristics of the female murals of different periods in Tang dynasty.It is full of time factors of the murals of Tang Dynasty first of all,it is effected by the earlier stages.Female murals appeared from Qin and Han Dynasties and then it went to the style of Wei and Jin Dynasties,then the style of the Sui Dynasty had its own style.These all the art styles of history had a profound influence on Tang Dynasty.In the early Tang the femal murals were like the style of Sui Dynasty.The flourishing Tang's femal murals were going to be fat and the middle-late Tang's femal murals' colour was more and more shallow.Except the open policy of Tang,the female murals' style was based on the Buddhism of India and the beauty-appreciation of His Majesty,as Lady Yang is very fat but Tang Xuanzong loved her,which affected the orientation of people's beautyappreciation.
