With the globalization of art and culture,an increasing number of foreign experts come to share their professional knowledge in China and foreign dance teachers are among them.In this report,the dance teachers were invited to teach students and Chinese dance teachers a different way of learning dances in Guangzhou.The interpreter was to provide interpreting services in class.In this report,based on the recording of dance class interpreting of the six-day task,the interpreter discovered that there were both linguistic difficulties,caused by the unfamiliar subject,and non-linguistic difficulties caused by working environment and other factors.To overcome these difficulties,since dance class interpreting is a kind of educational interpreting set in dance class,the interpreter studied the dance translation and interpreting,and educational interpreting.Based on the characteristics of dance class and the dynamic role model of educational interpreters,the interpreter believes that zero translation,inquiry and paraphrasing are useful tactics.The report is a review of the task and a reminder for the interpreter to discover her own inadequacy and make improvement.Hopefully,the report can become reference for interpreters who are interested in dance class interpreting or educational interpreting.
