The report was based on the author's interpretation task for Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Bureau of Dongguan Municipal Government.The author served as an interpreter in the Promotion of Ethiopian Business Environment in Dongguan.This report was written to summarize the author's reflection of his interpretation practice and to offer references for the improvement of other interpreters.The report,consisting of four parts,lays emphasis on analyzing translation difficulty and its coping tactics in business consecutive interpreting.Chapter one mainly focuses on the description of the interpretation task,introducing the background of the event and the basic requirements of the interpreter.Chapter two introduces the author's interpretation including the pre-task preparation and post-task assessment from both the customer and the staff from Dongguan government.The third chapter aims to analyze the whole interpretation case from the perspective of translation difficulty and more specifically,the four types of translation difficulty as well as schema theory.Chapter four concludes the author's major findings and limitations.Through analyzing real interpreting case in business setting,this report enables the author to have a better view of interpreter's role,possible obstacles as well as its solutions in business interpretation which may bring enlightenment to the author and other interpreters in the near future.
