Translation Report Of Social Science Academic Literature From The Perspective Of Translation Shift Theory

Social science is an important dimension of the development of human society.It is of great practical significance to understand and interpret the western social science literature.There is a big gap between Chinese and Western social sciences.Therefore,Social Sciences translation is a window to understand the western society,and it is particularly important to promote the development of Social Sciences in China.Through this dissertation,the translator knows about the social science translation characteristics by searching and reading relevant literature.The translator chooses a social science academic literature in the British Journal of Social Psychology,and gets a good master of Catford's translation shift theory,which contains level shifts and category shifts,and category shifts also includes class shifts,structure shifts,unit shifts and intra-system shifts.These translation strategies are extremely helpful for meeting language specification.The translator makes the theory guide the translation practice and proves the theory with the practice to make the translation meet the logical target language and readers' understanding better.Under the guidance of Catford's translation shift theory,I finished the translation thoroughly,master translation methods,and make a clear analysis of translation cases.That improves the level of translation and the ability of appliance of the theory.This translation report shows that Catford's translation theory can not only guide the translation of social science literature,but also help social science researchers,translators and other readers to understand the literature better.Meanwhile,The dissertation can provide more specific guidance and translation methods for future translation of social science literature.Figure 0;Table 0;Reference 21...
