The thesis is mainly about the investigating study of senior high school's cultural teaching situation.Under the trend of global economic integration,cultural exchanges are deepening day by day at home and abroad.The English learning of senior high school has gradually paid attention to the cultivation from the single language learning perspective to understanding different social and cultural aspects.We not only promote the high school students' oral English expression and reading ability,but also emphasize the cultural consciousness,aiming at cultivating high school students' English comprehensive competence and establishing intercultural communication awareness and basic intercultural communicative competence.According to the new Curriculum standard,the students need to understand the formation of English from the perspectives of history,geography,local customs,traditional customs,lifestyle,literature and art,codes of conduct and values of English-speaking countries,perceive the different cultural knowledge between China and western,deepen the understanding of culture,and finally form the cultural appreciation.So we need to know the specific situation of culture teaching in senior high school English class.Have the teachers been restricted by examination-oriented education and college entrance examination scores?Are there any differences between country and downtown schools?Therefore,this paper takes the case study of Senior English Teachers' Culture Teaching as the research content,analyzes the following questions:(1)How about the culture teaching ability,consciousness and attitude of senior high school English teachers? What are the differences between teachers?(2)What is the percentage of culture teaching in the English class? Are there any differences between downtown and county's English class?By investigating and interviewing 4 English teachers and 20 students,observing the English classes of the four teachers,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)The teaching ability of the teachers are good,but the designing and evaluating ability is just so so.Among all these abilities,downtown teachers are better than country's;the consciousness of cultural teaching of the teachers are strong but there are individual differences.While the gap is small between downtown and county;all the teachers have the same attitude in cultural teaching,they are not very serious to it.(2)it is also founded that the culture is seldom mentioned in the English class.Our teachers still focus on the language points.The students can only get a little cultural knowledge from the English class.According to the New Curriculum Standard,the author thinks that the following improvement strategies should be put forward: to correct the attitude of English culture teaching,increase the reserve of Englishculture teaching,enhance the ability of English cultural teaching,expand the breadth of English culture teaching and enrich the form of English culture teaching.
