| With corpus-based and statistical methods,this thesis presents a qualitative and quantitative study of semi-technical words in specialized text based on a self-translation and an authentic bilingual wordlist.On the foundation of an extraction and matching method accessible to technically unsophisticated translators as well as full analysis of linguistic features,the translation strategies of English-Chinese semi-technical words are studied in detail and illustrated by examples in point.The thesis finds it is an effective boost to the accuracy of term translation to develop a tailored wordlist and conduct translation studies of semi-technical words in specialized text. |
