Strategies For Translating Biographical Texts Into Chinese From The Perspective Of Skopostheorie

The development of biographical texts benefits from social progress and economic growth.Huge market demand for biographical texts promotes the study on biographical texts translation.This paper introduces the basic concept of Skopostheorie,investigates the features of biographical texts and explores the strategies that deal with biographical texts translation in accordance with its three principles of Skopos rule,coherence rule and fidelity rule,so as to demonstrate the validity of Skopostheorie in biographical texts,through the E-C translation of Failure is not an option: Mission control from Mercury to Apollo 13 and beyond.The strategies and methods that deal with biographical texts translation from the perspective of Skopostheorie are using notation,paraphrase,omission of pronouns,adjustment of long sentences,Chinese idioms and proverbs,reduplicated words,rhetorical and other specific translation methods in order to make the translation information accurate,in line with the target readers' reading habits and to ensure target readers have the same reading experience as the source language readers.
