Dialect is one of the important symbol of local identity, and it is also the important external manifestation of local identity. This paper investigates popular WeiBo account “Shanghai Headlines Broadcast”,reveal how it spreads the Shanghai dialect related content, how to explain the "legitimacy" of the Shanghai dialect, and how to construct Shanghai local identity by defining "Shanghaiese".And compared with Shanghai's official WeiBo account, observe the new characteristics and trend of the We-media environment in Shanghai dialect spread, and to explore the newtrends of local identity, which is a sub geographical identity in the We-media era. This paper found that,in the We-media environment, the dialect's appearance has greatly exceeded the original Mandarin dominant barriers. Not only the frequency of spreading shanghai dialect has increased significantly, more importantly, through active operation of "modernization" and "civilization",We-media defines and constructs the Shanghai localism.We-media surpass the discourse category that dialects only connected to local cultural symbol, but clearly connect dialect with local identity, especially compared to media ruled by government. This paper argues that We-media has increased the decentration of media rights, parts of the folk discourse system in We-media environment clearly weaken, and even be confront with the nationalism discourse. At the same time, the emerging media broke the synchronic concept created by the traditional mass media, which make the imagination of nationalism community is becoming more and more difficult to continue. In summary,We-media environment will continue to encourage elimination of nationalidentity, and contribute to local identity and regional identity, and will have a profound impact on the social structure of China.
