A Study On Gaosahng Local Dialect

This paper gives a comparatively detailed investigation and study on the local dialect of Gaoshang,which,adjacent to Linchuan County,lies in the south of the Xing'an County,Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.Chapter One is a brief introduction of the Xing'an County and Gaoshang town's geography,humanities and the evolution of history.Meanwhile it briefs the condition of the language spoken in the area,and of the men interviewed,and so on.Chapter Two concerns eibout the phonetic system of Gaoshang local dialect.The paper first provides the description,analysis and induction,including the initial consonant,vowel and tone,then the characteristics of these three elements,the relation of cooperation between initial consonant and vowel,of cooperation among these three elements.Then it gives the diachronic comparison revealling the corresponding relation between that of current Gaoshang Local Dialect and that of Mandarin.Chapter Three deals with the vocabulary about Gaoshang Local Dialect. Some characteristics of the dialect vocabulary are first introduced.After that,the article,in terms of different kinds,lists some words those are corresponding to but not entirely identical to Mandarin.Chapter Four,consisting of morphology (classified into 2 sectionrnotional words and form words) and syntax,studies the grammar of Gaoshang Local Dialect.The former details the main characteristics and grammatical function of the parts of speech while the latter deals in general terms with the word orther and the structural characteristics of several special sentence patterns.Some research materials are attached in the end of this paper,including the comparative study material between the phonetic system of Gaoshang Local Dialect and that of the middle ancient time, that between the phonecis system of Gaoshang Local Dialect and that of Mandarin,then some illustrations for grammar.The homophone list and the textual research on the original characters are placed here,too.
