The report is based on the translation of the entire content of chapter 3 and partial content of chapter 4 of From Exclusion to Excellence: Building Restorative Relationships to Create Inclusive Schools,which was coauthored by Dr.Michal Razer and Dr.Victor J.Friedman,and was published by Sense Publishers in 2017.Based on case studies drawn from their action research for over thirty years,the book suggests building restorative relationships between teachers and students,especially between teachers and excluded students,in order to provide references and guidelines for global educators.Chapter Three and Chapter Four present two of the most important principles in inclusive education,non-abandonment and reframing,which are further explained by cases.The translation practice was conducted under the guidance of Skopos theory,mainly under the rule of Skopos(primary rule),coherence and fidelity proposed by Vermeer.Additionally,the translator employed various methods to address a variety of translation difficulties at lexical,syntactic and textual levels.In order to deal with lexical problems,consulting parallel texts,conversion of parts of speech,searching on the Internet,and other approaches were employed.For syntactic difficulties,the translator adopted various translation techniques,including amplification,division,and restructuring.In order to achieve the coherence on the textual level,adding conjunction was used by the translator.The report combines examples in the translation practice to explore corresponding approaches and techniques,aiming to provide reference for future studies.
