Writing ability is an important index to test students' English ability.The National English Curriculum Standard for Senior High School(2017)puts forward some new requirements for senior high school English writing,and it also advocates the application of artificial intelligence(AI)into English teaching to develop a new model of writing teaching so as to promote effective learning of students.Moreover,the score of composition plays an important role in the total score of college entrance English examination,and the scoring standard of college entrance English examination is becoming more and more strict.Therefore,the importance of English writing teaching in high school is noticeable.However,relevant research shows that the effect of English writing teaching in senior high school is not satisfactory,mainly reflected in the following aspects:(1)students' lack of basic knowledge of language leads to vacuous writing content;(2)the monotonous writing teaching style brings about students' low interest in English writing;(3)students' lack of English writing training causes the slow improvement of their English writing level;(4)the single style of composition correction leads to incomplete composition feedback;(5)students' neglecting the process of composition revision causes the lack of their writing subjectivity;(6)the lack of interaction between teacher and student in the whole teaching process leads to the inefficiency of English writing teaching.With the development of network technique,the emergence of automatic Evaluation system(AES)brings vitality to English writing teaching in senior high school.In order to improve the teaching efficiency of English writing teaching in senior high school,the author intends to apply the automatic evaluation system(AES)into high school English writing teaching.All the students of two parallel classes in Grade 1 of Z High School of J Province were chosen as the object of the study,and they were randomly assigned to the experimental class and the control class.The students in the experimental class wrote with Pigai System,while the students in the control class wrote in the traditional form.First of all,the author makes a comparative analysis of the results of two class students' writing data from before and after the experiment to discuss whether the automatic evaluation system(AES)can improve the English writing ability of senior high school students effectively;Secondly,the author analyzes the results of the second dimension of the questionnaire survey that is about the change of the students' attitude towards English writing before and after the experiment,which is used to discuss whether the automatic evaluation system(AES)can effectively cultivate high school students' interest in English writing and stimulate their English writing motivation;Finally,the author combines the results of three dimensions of the questionnaire to answer the question: the way of improving the teaching efficiency of English writing in senior high school by means of automatic evaluation system(AES).From the experiment,we could find that the English writing scores,writing fluency,writing accuracy,vocabulary and sentence richness of experimental class were improved obviously after the experiment was finished,and there is a significant difference between experimental class and control class.In addition,the results of the questionnaire survey showed that:(1)Although the students in the experimental class did not make significant progress in the structure and content of the composition after using Pigai System,their confidence in writing,writing interest and writing participation were increased,with writing anxiety decreased and writing goals clearer;(2)Students in experimental class deem that the Pigai System has the features of timely feedback,detailed feedback,accurate feedback,convenience of use,interactive feedback and repeated modification,and these feedback characteristics can effectively improve the efficiency of English writing teaching in senior high school.Based on the theory of AES's application to English writing teaching in senior high school,the author draws the following conclusions:(1)the automatic evaluation system(AES)can effectively improve the English writing ability of senior high school students.(2)the automatic evaluation system(AES)can effectively cultivate high school students' interest in English writing and stimulate their English writing motivation.(3)the automatic evaluation system(AES)can improve the efficiency ofEnglish writing teaching in senior high school by means of feedback characteristics,including timeliness feedback,detailed feedback,accurate feedback,convenience of use,interactive feedback and repeated modification.All in all,the automatic evaluation system(AES)provides a good platform for students' English writing,which brings different writing experiences to both teachers and students.Nevertheless,this study also finds that the AES's mechanical feedback,the intelligence level and its input mode are still should be improved.However,one flaw cannot obscure the splendor of the jade,and the study gives some enlightenment to intelligent development of AES in the future.This research not only enriches the theory of foreign language writing teaching,but also implements the requirement in National English Curriculum Standard for Senior High School(2017)that applying technology to English writing teaching of senior high school,which is of great theoretical and practical significance.
