| The source text of this translation report comes from the second part of a Chinese memoir My Life.The memoir is written by one of the ordinary citizens from the Northeastern China and records various sufferings in the process of the author's growth.Faced with numerous difficulties,however,the author never gives up hope in life.The author is willing to help others while making a living.With the joys and sorrows,the author finally ushers in a happy life.This memoir can be called a textbook transmitting positive energy.The translation report consists of five parts,including the introduction,the description of translation task,theoretical foundation,translation analysis and conclusion.My Life is written by an average worker in plain language and with a strong flavor of Northeast China's culture.In the process of translation,the translator meets some translational challenges,such as the translation of abbreviations,dialects,four-character phrases,idioms,culture-loaded words and communicative effects,which are successfully solved based on the three-dimensional transformation of Eco-translatology,including linguistic dimension,cultural dimension and communicative dimension.The detailed translation techniques are also discussed,mainly covering paraphrase,addition,omission,division,combination,shift,reconstruction,idiomatic translation,transliteration plus annotation and imitation.The specific application of these techniques depends on the translational Eco-environment in translation.The report shows that translation is essentially a process of translators' adaptation and selection so as to realize the Eco-balance between source language and target language;the higher degree of three-dimensional integration may guarantee the better translation quality.The report not only plays a guiding role for the translation of texts enjoying the same types,but also provides some references for the application and research of Eco-translatology. |
