A Study On English-Chinese Translation Of You,Your Child And School(Excerpts)from Three-Dimensional Transformation Perspective Of Eco-Translatology

Eco-Translatology,the combination of ecology and translatology,is flexible and inclusive in practice.Owing to its features,this theory is verified effective to guide the translation on interdisciplinary subjects.Educational book has its characteristics,but scholars tend to study educational book from lexical,syntax and textual level as before.While translating educational book You,Your Child and School under the guide of Eco-Translatology,this thesis will present a new view of translation study.This thesis analyzes typical language features of You,Your Child and School,these features include but are not limited to expressions with a certain background,passive voice,and illocutionary meaning.At the same time,this thesis reaches a conclusion that the translator should choose proper translation methods adaptably and the translator is relatively important while performing a translation task.When facing with bilingual differences,the translator should adapt to the source language and select accurate expression in the target language.This thesis analyzes cases with the three-dimensional transformation and gives specific translation suggestions.In linguistic transformation,the strategies of translating passive voice and long and complicated sentences are given,such as adjustment,and use of disposition and generic term.In cultural transformation,the method of translating culture-loaded words and particular expressions is stated,that is using localized expression after knowing the original background.In communicative transformation,this thesis discusses how to choose key information and how to change language style according to the communicative intention.The practicability of Eco-Translatology is proved.Hopefully,this thesis will be a reference for future studies.However,this thesis doesn't cover all the translation problems and there's a lack of comparative studies.Eco-Translatology is believed to have a profound influence on the development of translation research domestically,and contribute to culture exchanges.
