A Report On E-C Translation Of VEGANSTYLE From Three-dimensional Transformation Perspective Of Eco-translatology

Vegetarianism,especially veganism,has been increasingly sought after in recent years,and the number of vegans in China is rapidly increasing.The fashion lifestyle brought by veganism in clothing and beauty has gradually become popular all over the world.Therefore,it is necessary to study the translation of vegan fashion.This translation practice report is based on VEGANSTYLE,a guide to fashion and life,which introduces vegan fashion in clothing,beauty,home furnishings,etc.The difficulties encountered in the translation practice are mainly related to vocabulary,sentences,and culture.In terms of vocabulary,the fashion terms with strong professionalism in the original text are diverse and complex.There are many abbreviated nouns and polysemous words.Some common words will have completely different meanings from those commonly used in professional fields.As to the sentences,the original text is complicated and lengthy,the translator must analyze the sentence structure concretely,and adopt appropriate translation skills to make the translation smooth and natural.Culturally,the translator must overcome the cultural differences between China and the West to ensure that the translation conforms to the reading habits of Chinese readers.This report,combined with Eco-translatology theory put forward by Professor Hu Gengshen,attempts to analyze translation cases from the perspective of“Three-dimensional Transformation”,and discusses how to make adaptive selection and transformation from three dimensions of language,culture and communication so as to produce faithful and smooth high-quality translations.Firstly,in terms of the language dimension,the methods such as transliteration,part of speech conversion,passive voice conversion and word order structure adjustment are respectively used to translate brand names,passive sentences and lengthy sentences,so as to complete the adaptive selection conversion of language dimension.Secondly,in the cultural dimension,the methods such as annotation,supplementing translation and using Chinese four-character words are used to narrow down the differences in cultural contents and cultural expressions.Finally,with regard to the communicative dimension,the translation methods such as style transplantation,pronoun concretization,and conjunction provincial translation are selected in language style and logical cohesion to ensure the true ecological balance between the original text and the target text.Through this translation practice and report writing,the author finds that the "Three-dimensional Transformation" of Eco-translatology has positive guiding significance for the translation of such practical fashion texts.
