With the Belt and Road Initiative,China is making further and greater cooperation with other countries in building a world of connectivity.Under such circumstances,on the school level, more and more exchange programs are being seen in different cities of China.Wuhan,as the thoroughfare of nine provinces, shoulders important responsibilities in this regard. This interpreting task was mainly about the construction and engineering program between University of New South Wales(UNSW)and Huazhong University of Science and Technology(HUST).In October 2017,13 Australian students came to Wuhan and took visits to several important constructions and famous building firms since they major in Construction Management. This is an interpretation task report on the interpretation of UNSW International Construction Study Tour in Wuhan. There were two forms of interpreting: consecutive interpreting for the brief conference about Yangsigang Yangtze River Bridge,ZHDI Architects and the Distributed Energy Source Station of Wuhan Intercontinental Hotel, and liaison interpreting for the tour of Wuhan International Conference & Exhibition Center(WIEC),the prefabrication factory of China Construction Science and Technology Group(CSCEC)and Wuhan Citizens Home.Based on deverbalization of Interpretive Theory proposed by Seleskovitch and Lederer, the report elaborated on deverbalization in this task.During the interpreting, many possible difficulties for an interpreter were encountered. This report addressed the problems from the perspective of terminologies, redundancies and long sentences in author's output, analyzed and solved them in terms of deverbalization and its three methods: creating, extra explaining and reordering. This interpretation practice can provide insights into the construction translation since construction-related topics were not common in daily interpreting class in contrast to economics, politics or education. In addition, the analysis and revision of it is a good approach to discuss deverbalization in practical and architectural interpreting.
