| Against the backdrop of economical globalization and implementation“goingglobal strategy”, there has been a bigger need for China to develop high-level,application-oriented and professional translators and interpreters to facilitateinternational business&trade and cultural exchange. Accordingly, MTI trainingshould attach more importance to cultivate MTI students’ ability of application.Based on my task of China Tobacco Schweitzer Reconstituted TobaccoEngineering Project of Yunnan Construction&Installation Co.,Ltd., this interpretationpractice report talks about the introduction, research and summary of procedure andcompletion of the interpretation task. It consists of four chapters as followed: Chapter1describes the background of this project, information about client and foreignpartner, as well as a brief introduction of task requirement.Chapter2is concerned with interpretation project management. At the beginning,it explains interpretation type and feature. An overall analysis is made for thepreparation through SWOT analysis method with four elements of working conditions,strength, weakness, resource utilization(opportunity and threat) and working plan.Chapter3mainly discusses the interpretation process. First, I conduct an analysison problems happening in real work, which is elaborated by typical cases. Second,various practical techniques or skills and flexible strategies are illustrated withinterpretation principles. Third, translation quality assessment focuses on threeaspects: client feedback, related foreign partners comment and self-reflection andevaluation to control and improve interpretation quality.Chapter4is conclusion. I make an overview of my performance and existingproblems. Furthermore, I present my further understanding of translation career,translation professionalization, translator’accomplishment and professional translationtraining. Objectively, some valuable suggestions are provided for those who want tobe real professional translator. |
