Study On The Multifunctional Usage Of "Jiang" In Ziyang Dialect

The research object of this paper is the“Jiang”of ZiYang dialect and its multifunctional usage.As a sub-dialect of southwest mandarin,Ziyang dialect belongs to ChengDu-ChongQing area,but its remote towns are greatly influenced by the old-Xiang dialect.In this area,both“Shuo”and“Jiang”reused to express verbal behaviors.This paper mainly studies“Jiang”and its related usages in daily conversation.Based on linguistic facts,this paper has carried out detailed description and reasonable qualitative analysis of“Jiang”,and found that“Jiang”presents the phenomenon of coexistence of?1[???ia???⁵³]and?2[ka???⁵³]on the pronunciation.And“Jiang”has a variety of functional usages such as quotative verb,self-expression marks,quotation marks,complementizer,topic marker,discourse marker,evidential marker,counter-expectation marker,and negative modal particles.Its pronunciation and pragmatic allopract are distributed regularly among different functions,which indicates that it is in the process of grammaticalization.With the help of theoretical framework and research perspective such as Semantic theory,Grammaticalization theory and Generalized evidentiality theory,this paper makes a reasonable analysis and explanation of the sources and interrelationships of various usages,and constructs their grammaticalization paths with the help of previous studies.The multi-functional description and analysis of“Jiang”in ZiYang dialect can not only reflect the general usage of verbal verbs in the dialect area,but also provide more evidence for the systematic study and grammaticalization theory of verbal verbs in Chinese language.This paper is divided into seven chapters.The first chapter is the introduction.Firstly,this paper gives an overview of ZiYang and ZiYang dialect,clarifies the research object“Jiang”and the research scope of this paper,then introduces the relevant research status of verbal verbs and communication categories,and finally explains the research methods,research steps and corpus sources.The second chapter mainly describes and sorts out the literary and colloquial readings of“Jiang”in ziyang dialect and the semantic system of the verb“Jiang”.First of all,the usage of“Shuo”and“Jiang”in this dialect area is analyzed and compared,and the phenomenon of“Jiang”in different languages is described.Then,According to the difference of the nature of the object after“Jiang”,the verbal verb“Jiang”is divided into two types:Saying verbs and Reporting verbs?further divided into expressive verb and quotative verb?.This paper sorts out the basic grammatical features of the verbal verb“Jiang”,summarizes its object types,and describes three types of contextual meanings derived from the addition and subtraction of different sememes in common contexts,such as“Jiang Qiu”,“Kan Zhong”,“Yin Jie”,“Shuomei”,“Jia”,“criticism”and“scold”.According to the object source,the reporting verb“Jiang”is divided into two subtypes:self-expression and quoting others,and describes its grammatical features.Finally,the evolution mechanism of the meaning of t“Jiang”is summarized.The third chapter mainly describes and analyzes the topic marker“Jiang”and its function in ZiYang dialect,which is derived from the fuzzification of Saying verbs.Sort out the definition of topic and topic marker,and analyze the possibility and process of“?/??”becoming and successfully becoming topic marker.Describe and sort out the importance of the structural combination of“Jiang”and modal verb“Yao”to form a relative clause marking“??”.Describe a sub-topic marker in ZiYang dialect-example marker.Finally,the thesis describes the semantic relationship between the topic and its adnex,and divides the topic into four categories:argument co-index and register type.The fourth chapter mainly describes and analyzes the discourse markers and their functions derived from the subject-verb structure“??”and the complete clause“????”in ZiYang dialect in a special context.This paper makes a detailed description and analysis of the self-expression structure“??+X”in the way of returning to the context,differentiates discourse expression from viewpoint expression,and proposes that a special context is the source of discourse marking“??”function.This paper proposes that the abstract combination of structural meaning and special context meaning will eventually form the basic discourse function of“??”and build a special context model.And puts forward the method of“introducing context”to distinguish and distinguish ambiguous sentences“????”.Describe in detail the different discourse functions of“????”discourse markers in different positions.Through the specific conversation analysis,it makes clear the different subjective attitudes that can be expressed by“????”in different positions in the conversation.The fifth chapter analyzes the mechanism and process of the grammaticalization of the quoted verb“Jiang”to the target phrase at the beginning of the sentence.It is pointed out that the change of the part of speech into the concatenated structure and the preceding verb is the inducement and mechanism to cause the“Jiang”to be blurred constantly.At the same time,with the help of the phonetic experiment,we observe the different degree of weakening of the pronunciation of“Jiang”under several functions,and construct the grammaticalization path of“Jiang”.The sixth chapter mainly describes and analyzes the“Jiang”and its transmitting function in ZiYang dialect.Describe the different communicative functions of the recital verb“Jiang”in the leading sentences of different communicative languages.Through the analysis of discourse discourse,and the description and statistics of the pronunciation distribution and variant forms of“Jiang”,it is found that the use of variant forms and the pronunciation distribution rules of“Jiang”are mainly selected consciously by the reformer.The forms of complement mainly include“VP+Jiang”and“?NP?Jiang”.This paper describes and analyzes the process and causes of the subjectivization of the“?NP?Jiang”catchphrase,which mainly concerns the structural position,cooperative principle and the absorption of contextual meaning.Finally,it describes and analyzes a special sentence pattern of negative assertion in ZiYang dialect,and points out that this kind of“Jiang”has been turned into a negative tone at the end of a sentence.Chapter seven is the conclusion.This paper summarizes the main research conclusions and innovation points,and points out the shortcomings of this paper and the prospect of future research.
