Research On Color Application In Sign Design Of Public Space

With the acceleration of urbanization,large-scale comprehensive buildings begin to appear one after another in increasingly internationalized cities,which has diversified the functions of urban public space and brought rich life experiences to local residents and people from different countries and regions.At the same time,it has also led to the structure of public space becoming more and more complicated,causing people to often lose their way in space due to the lack of clear guidelines.Public space sign design is an important part of urban construction.It plays a role of indication,guidance and explanation in the space environment.It can also be used as a part of space culture to reflect space characteristics and create a harmonious,unified and personalized visual experience.As the main design element of sign design,color not only affects the identification and use efficiency,eye-catching and aesthetic functions of sign design in public space,but also affects sign design's integration degree and visual presentation effect in the space environment.Therefore,when the public space sign design is gradually moving towards integrity and maturity,the influence and effect of the application of guide color are gradually attracting designers' attention.Relevant departments of various countries and numerous scholars at home and abroad have made different explorations and attempts on the application of guide color in public space.This paper studies the current situation and development trend of the application of guide color in public space at home and abroad.Based on the guide system and color theory,this paper uses theoretical knowledge such as Hostaux Wald system,Mansyr system,PCCS-Japan Color Research Institute color matching system,color psychology and color phenomena discovered through physical experiments,such as color contrast and harmony,difference comparison between latitudes of various attributes of color stereo,etc.to analyze and design relevant tests on the problems and factors affecting the efficiency of guide color recognition,and focuses on exploring how to form an improvement path for the efficiency of guide color recognition.Clarify the importance of color application to Design Guide,combine with summarizing the experience in the design practice project,proceed from the color relation and recognition efficiency of the guide text,the meaning research of color semiotics,and the color relation with the space environment,and use the basic principles of colorimetry,such as color contrast(hue contrast,brightness contrast,purity contrast,area contrast and cold and warm contrast)and color harmony,to carry out relevant tests on the functions of color guide.In the process of analyzing the test data,the test conclusion is proved by actual cases,which has important reference significance for seeking a reasonable and effective color application method to improve the efficiency of sign design recognition,and is also an important basis for forming various parts of the path to improve the efficiency of public space guide color recognition.This paper makes a comprehensive analysis of the factors that affect the efficiency of visual color recognition through the selection of visual materials,the sociality,nationality,religion and other aspects of color.Based on the above research conclusions,aiming at effectively realizing the recognition function of public visual color application,this paper finds out its weak links and the parts that need improvement,and improves the irrationality in the current application process of visual color.At the same time,on the basis of studying the recognition and efficiency of color application in public space sign design,this paper applies the theory and obtained conclusions and test data to the practical design work.Through participating in the design and landing of actual projects,it accumulates valuable practical experience for the future design of sign design that can better serve people.
