Research On The Vocabulary Variation In Malaysia Chinese Literature

Language variation is an important direction of today's sociolinguistic research.Language variation involves many aspects,such as the natural aspects of language contact,language competition,as well as some artificial driving forces such as language policy and standardization.In the process of human communication,the language is not static,but the state is constantly changing.Language variation will inevitably happen in the process of development,and such variation is also reflecting changes in society.Language variation not only occurs with the diachronic variation of straight lines,but also presents different variants in the same time period.Malaysian Chinese is an important variant of modern Chinese.Studying the variation of Malaysian Chinese is also an exploration of the laws and characteristics of linguistic variation.Based on the Chinese language in Malaysia,this dissertation selects the vocabulary which is the most active part in the language as the research object,and attempts to comprehensively and deeply analyze the vocabulary variation in Malaysian Chinese.The Malaysia Chinese research corpus selected in this dissertation is all from Malaysian Chinese literature,while the modern Chinese corpus used for comparison is all derived from modern Chinese literature in a specific period.This dissertation has 7 parts:The introduction part introduces the background,research status,research methods,innovation points and corpus sources of this dissertation.The 1st chapter to the 5th chapter are the main part of this dissertation.The 1st chapter to the 3rd chapter explore and analyze the 3 specific phenomena of Malaysian Chinese vocabulary variation.The 4th and 5th chapters are a summary of the categories,causes and characteristics of the variation phenomena involved in this dissertation.The 1st chapter is the lexical function variation in Malaysian Chinese.Mainly examined two types of words: quantifiers and auxiliary words.The quantifier part is mainly divided into dialect quantifiers and generalized quantifiers.The 2nd chapter is the discussion of the internal structure variation of words.This part also contains two parts: ellipsis and inverted morphemes.The 3rd chapter studies the variation of the meaning of Chinese words in Malaysia.This chapter is divided into two parts: the expansion of the meaning of the word and the transfer of the meaning of the word.The expansion of the meaning of the word mainly has the expansion of the concept of meaning and the expansion of the meaning of color.The first 3 chapters are a detailed description of the phenomenon of vocabulary variation.In the 4th chapter,according to the four classifications of vocabulary variation by Chen Yuan(1983),the variation phenomena discussed in this paper are classified,and the variation phenomenon is appropriately supplemented according to the classification of Chen Yuan(1983).Finally,based on the classification of Chen Yuan(1983),the appropriate variation categories were added.Chen Yuan(1983)'s four classifications are: creating new words,old words being given new meanings,compressing meaning or transforming color meaning,and foreign phonetic translations(or free translations).The one added on this basis is that new words are given the old meaning.The 5th chapter analyzes the main causes and characteristics of the variation phenomenon involved in this dissertation.The reasons are mainly divided into three major points: the influence of Chinese dialects,the economic principles of language,and the influence of Malaysia and Malaysia culture.The characteristics section includes two main characteristics of variation and the trend and path of variation.There are two main characteristics of Malaysia Chinese vocabulary variation: compatibility and catastrophe.The path is from Chinese dialect to Malaysia Chinese dialect,which is influenced by the local strong language and culture.After the promotion of Chinese Mandarin,in the process of learning Chinese Mandarin,influenced by Malaysia Chinese dialects and learning strategies,the Chinese language was finally formed.The conclusion part is a summary of the whole dissertation,and points out the shortcomings of this study.
