With the development of science and technology, the exchanges in the fields of Science and technology culture have been increasingly active.Scientific and technical text has become a common type of text in translation practice and its normativity mainly displays in the lexical level and syntactical level. To translate such text type requires the translator to select and adopt proper translation theory and translation skill accurately on the basis of grasping a comprehensive and accurate understanding of the source textThis is a translation practice report based on translation practice of the seven and eight parts of Academic E-books:Publishers,Librarians and Users.ST is published by Purdue University Press in November 2015,and there is no Chinese version for the present. The excerpt parts details several authors' insights on the sales model and user experience of academic e-books in the United States.ST is concise in language, objective in content description, and has the characteristics of scientific and technological information text. The key of this translation project is to grasp the characteristics of the ST and adopt appropriate normative translation methods. This report analyzes the Chinese translation of Academic E-Books:Publishers Librarians and Users under the guidance of the Chesterman's translation norm theory.According to Chesterman, translation norms consist of expectancy norms and professional norms, and professional norms include the accountability norm, the communication norm and the relation norm.He systematically describes the effects translation norms have on translational activities.Chesterman points it out that "clarity","truth","trust" and "understanding" are the four kinds of values underlying translational norms.Based on the types of translation norms and four values proposed by Chesterman, this report combines the characteristics of scientific and technological information text, and uses the appropriate translation strategies to analyze the source text and the target text from lexical and syntactic level. The results show that Chesterman's translation norm theory can guide the translator correctly understand the logical relationship, carefully examine the source text, analyze the sentence structure, dissect the sentence and select the sentence pattem, change the characteristics of word and the order of the sentence, and adjust the tense, voice and structure of the translation, making the translation not stick to the source text, and conforming to the Chinese expression habit, and making the translation read fluently and concisely. In addition, this translation practice report also provides a good reference for Chinese translation of the scientific and technological information text. The report can be divided into seven parts. The Introduction part briefly introduces the research background and significance, and the main search methods and innovations of the research. The first chapter is a description on the task, including main contents and linguistic features of the ST.The second chapter is translation process description. And the third chapter is theoretical guidance and literature review. The fourth chapter is case analysis.Base on the Chesterman's translation nonn theory, this chapter analyses the ST and the TT from lexical and syntactic level. And the fifth part mainly describes problems encountered during the translation practice and its enlightenment. For the last part, the author summarizes her experience and reflections during the process of the translation.
