In November of 2019,the general manager of Veigas Real Estate,Mr.Mendes authorized the author as the liaison interpreter for a three day business trip so as to help develop potential partnerships with Chinese immigration agencies and real estate investors The author has recorded one meeting as this thesis’ analysis materialsThis practice report analyzes the characteristics of liaison interpreting,and problems occurred during interpreting based on the framework of Chesterman models of translation ethics,including the ethics of representation,the ethics of service,the ethics of communication and the norm-based ethics.Problems occurred in the interpreting might be caused by lack of back-ground knowledge,unfamiliarity of terminology,misunderstanding and etc.Based on this theory,the author will further reflect on the possible solutions for the problems.In the end,the author puts forward suggestions for interpreting education in accordance with the analysis in this thesis.Practice report can also be applied in daily teaching methods as a way of helping students to reflect on their practice based on theories learned in classroom.Furthermore,introducing translation ethics into teaching can prepare the interpreting students for future work and prevents from teaching only with interpreting skills.
