Out of interest, and also to improve translation skills and understand the translation market, the author was commissioned by Sky Link TV to translate the subtitles of the TV series The Stand-In in July 2018,before entering BFSU.After two years of study, the author decided to analyze and revise the original translation to see if progress has been made. This report introduces in detail the process of the translation and revision, including typical problems encountered in translation, solutions, and lessons learned. The author mainly utilizes the framework of "Comprehension,Expression, and Adaptation(CEA)"proposed by Li Changshuan in his book co-authored with Lynette Shi.According to this framework, translators should fully understand the Source Text(ST)and convey what the author expresses or wishes to express in accordance with the rules of writing;and translators should make necessary adaptations based on the purpose of translation. The expression of the translated text may be the same with, similar to or completely different from the ST in form. The author conducts an analysis of the errors in the original translation based on the CEA framework and draws lessons for future tasks. In comprehension, the translator should understand the ST at all linguistic levels and also the background information. In expression, the translator should convey the message faithfully, use words precisely and express the meaning completely. The translator should also reproduce coherence and the style of the ST.Finally, the translator should make adaptations if necessary.
