For a long time, scholars both at home and aboard have carried out translation studies from different perspectives such as linguistics, semiotics, sociology, ethics, etc.,and have achieved fruitful results.Translation studies move from micro to macro, from inside to outside of the text, but the study of the text itself, which is closely related to translation, has not received much attention in this process.Because of its particularity, literary texts need to pay more attention to the study of the text itself.Translation poetics,as a theory that studies the poetic features of texts,is especially suitable for literary translation. This paper is a translation report based on the theory of translation poetics and taking the work of American Indian writer Shobha Rao,Girls Burn Brighter,as an example. This paper analyzes specific translation problems both through language and narrative levels.Through this translation practice, this report supports the theory that one of the fundamental task of literary translation is to restore the poetic features of the text which can be embodied in language and narration level. The language level can be divided into word, syntax and so on;the narrative level can be embodied in narrative perspective, plot, characters and so on.Because ofthe particularity of literary texts,in future literary translation practice,it is necessary to pay attention to the poetic nature of the texts at all levels so as to bring better translations of literary works to readers.
