Discover Liangshan:A Brief History About Discovery Process In Liangshan Mount District

Today's Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture has a profound historical origin,in the course of more than two thousand years of history,this area finally assimilated by the territory of the Central Dynasty.And after the founding of the PRC,was set up as a autonomous area in A.D.1955.The purpose of this paper is to explore the process that the concept of"Liangshan" is gradually formed by the change of cognitional history.Since Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty conquered the xi'nanyi(???)and incorporated it into the empire,the central government has been constantly understanding the Liangshan region.In different historical periods,the central dynasty's understanding of Liangshan region has also been constantly changing.Among them,the rise of the southwest regime in the Tang Dynasty made the outline of the predecessor of Liangshan Prefecture—Yuexi region gradually become clear.In the Song Dynasty,due to the need of conservative mentality and actual situation,the Song people became estranged from this area and constructed a story to deny the fact that Yuexi region has close connection with the empire.This shortcoming has not improved with the setting of tusi(??)in Yuan,Ming and Qing dynasties.Therefore,in the late Qing Dynasty "Burke incident" occurred,the lack of corresponding understanding of Liangshan made central government come up with no idea to Liangshan Region.During the ROC,scholars began to pay attention to Liangshan region,trying to re-understand Liangshan and develop it.In the development process of rear areas'development advocated by the ROC government,people have paid more attention to the unique geographical significance of Liangshan region in the rear of Southwest China,and tried to re-understand and depict the geographical characteristics of Liangshan region through the scientific investigation of positivism.Due to the special geographical situation in Liangshan area,scientific investigation has played a vital role in the process of understanding and developing Liangshan region.The study looked at the natural geographical environment,mineral resources,transportation routes,customs,ethnic issues and so on.These actions not only filled the lack of knowledge,but also changed and enriched people's understanding of Liangshan area,for the future local construction laid a valuable knowledge base.This paper is divided into four chapters,from the period of dynasty era and modern times to investigate the characteristics of the central government to the geographical understanding of Liangshan region and its changing process,pointed out several key periods to promote the formation of Liangshan cognition,and explain them from the background of regional history.From the perspective of thorough regional history,chapter one to chapter two detail the cognition of Liangshan region in the dynasty era and the regional historical background related to its cognition.Chapter four analyzes the change of people's understanding of Liangshan region under the background of rear areas'development.Finally,it summarizes the changing process of Liangshan's cognitive history and gives some advices for the relevance.
