With the development of China's “One Belt And One Road” initiative and the “17+1”cooperation between China and central and eastern European countries,the economic and cultural exchanges between China and Slovenia have become more frequently.At the same time,Chinese language learning has become more and more popular in Slovenia.While the “Chinese fever” heats up in Slovenia,it also drives the development of Chinese teaching and learning of ethnic Chinese in Slovenia.The Chinese language teaching course for ethnic Chinese students was set up by the Confucius Institute of Ljubljana University in 2013(hereafter referred to as “ethnic Chinese course”),and it is the only Chinese Course for ethnic Chinese students as a typical representative in Slovenia.Through investigating on the Chinese language teaching and learning situation of the ethnic Chinese students in the Confucius Institute of Ljubljana University,this research aims to reflect the true situation of Chinese teaching and learning of ethnic Chinese in central and eastern European countries where the immigration history of overseas Chinese is short and the population is small and disperse,and attract more attentions from Chinese educators at home and abroad.This research takes all teachers and students of ethnic Chinese course as respondents,and uses the method of empirical investigation to investigate the basic situation of ethnic Chinese teaching and studying in Slovenia.The result of the investigation manifests that the ethnic Chinese course has received strong support from the Confucius Institute of Ljubljana University,the Chinese embassy and overseas Chinese in Slovenia.The teaching scale has been expanded and the teaching system has been normalized gradually,but there are still many problems at present.According to the actual teaching situation of ethnic Chinese course and the studying characteristics of ethnic Chinese students,the author puts forward some corresponding suggestions for the existing problems of ethnic Chinese course in Chinese teaching and studying to promote the development of local ethnic Chinese teaching.
