Based on the author's teaching practice in the Confucius Institute at Kansas State University in the United States from September 2016 to June 2017.Through classroom observations,records,questionnaires,and other forms,the author collected valid data for the teaching situation in the past year,and conducted analyze and compare,point out its advantages and disadvantages,provide some thoughts and suggestions for the Chinese teaching of ethnic Chinese students in the Institute.At the same time,it hopes to provide references for Chinese teaching of ethnic Chinese children of the world.This article divided into five chapters:The first chapter is mainly for the reasons for the topic,the significance of the topics selected,innovations,and a summary of related research.The second chapter introduces the basic characteristics of Chinese class students at the Confucius Institute at Kansas State University.Including the level of students,the advantages of students,and the problems of learning Chinese.The third chapter analyzes the teaching of Chinese class in Confucius Institute at Kansas State University,including the characteristics of curriculum setting and teaching effects(new word teaching,Chinese character teaching,text teaching,review and practice).The fourth chapter is the teaching strategy suggestion for the characteristics of the above two aspects,including four parts: more effective teaching methods,targeted teaching materials,reasonable arrangement of teaching time and the requirements for teachers of Chinese as a foreign language.The fifth chapter is a summary of the main points of the full text,and explains where this article can not be involved.The author hopes that based on the information and experience,it will provide more effective teaching and management for the Chinese language classes of the Confucius Institute at Kansas State University.At the same time,she hopes to enrich overseas Chinese teaching research area through this case study.
